Busy Week...

These last few days have been really busy, and next week is only going to get busier. Along with classes I am trying to complete FA100. FA100 is a zero credit class that everyone has to do, you have to go to arts events and things of that nature. A couple weeks ago I fulfilled the lecture part of the course by attending a Gospel Values Lecture. Then yesterday I completed the choir part by going to 'Joseph Smith the Prophet.' It was really good, I enjoyed the music a lot. They had an amazing choir and an even more amazing orchestra.

On Tuesday I am going to 'Beauty and the Beast: the live stage show.' This will fulfill the live stage show part of the course. I am actually really excited about this one, it should be good. Then on Thursday I am going to 'Extravadance.' This is is a performance by the school dance teams. They do a bunch of different styles of dancing, I've heard it is really good. This will take care of my dance requirement for FA100.

As far as the rest of my week...I have classes, quizzes, papers due, things to catch up on, laundry, and packing. I go home on Saturday so I have to make sure I am caught up on everything before I leave...I don't want to have to stress about school on my break from it. Other than that things are going well. We still have that one roommate who is driving us nuts...But you probably figured that. The next time I post I will probably be at home...So, until then, take care everyone.

If I had a world of my own, nothing would be what it is...

In an attempt to get rid of the slew of lectures that followed my last post, I have decided to post again. There is not much for me to post about right now, but I'll make do. The week after next I get to go home for Thanksgiving, which I am very excited about; actually I might as well just say that I get to go home next week, since on the calendars Sunday is the first day of the week. I will be home from the 19th until the 27th, and I can't wait. It will be a nice break from the stress of school. The day after I get back up here, the 28th, I am going to Idaho Falls with my roommates. We are going to go see "The Forgotten Carols." As far as I have heard, this is a musical by Michael McLean. It tells the story of those involved in the Christmas story, the birth of Christ, that are often overlooked; like the woman who couldn't have children of her own, which is told by the musical number "Mary Let Me Hold Her Baby." It should be fun.

I am also going to try and get standby tickets for "Savior of the World." The regular tickets are sold out for all nights, but there is still a chance that I can get in. After I get back from Thanksgiving break I will only have 18 days of school left for this semester. And the last week of that is finals. So basically I will have two weeks of regular school and then a week of finals. I can't wait!! My roommates and I are already thinking about Christmas. There is Christmas music playing in our apartment 24/7. It is very nice.

Let's see, what else do I have to report?...I need new shoes really bad; not exciting, I know, but it is all that I have. I have only had these shoes since last winter and they are already falling apart on my feet. I think it's all the walking that I have to do everyday that's doing them in. They hurt so bad! Maybe when I get home my mom will be that wonderful nice loving person that I know she is and will buy me some new ones. Did you all recognize my heading for this post? If you took the Disney character quiz you should. I thought it suited me. Well, that's all I really have for now; hopefully life will get more interesting later this week.

I found this quiz on Liz's blog and decided to take it. I think it fits pretty well.

Inauguration

I've been promising people for a while that I would post about the event I went to on Tuesday. It was the inauguration of BYU-Idaho's new President, President Clark. President Clark was most recently the Dean of Harvard. There were many distinguished guests, and I was very fortunate to have gotten tickets to be in the same room as them. Among such guests was the President of Harvard, the Governor of Idaho, President Hinckley, the General Relief Society President, some Apostles and members of the Quorum of the Seventy (Mostly, a lot of the people who attend General conference).

I went with two of my roommates, two others could not get tickets and the third was an usher there. We actually got pretty good seats. It is useless to explain where our seats were, unless you are familiar with the Hart building. For now we will just say the seats were pretty good. We actually got to sit in the nice red ones as opposed to some others who had to sit in the bleachers. We got there two hours in advanced and there was still a huge mass of people who had gotten there before us. It was really cool when we were waiting for them to let us in. We all started singing hymns. It was very nice and peaceful. They finally let us 45 minutes before it started. We got our seats and started waiting again.

There were so many people there. I don't think there was an empty seat anywhere! It was so cute, while we were waiting an usher came by. With her was this little old man who couldn't walk very well. They were trying to find him a place to sit. There were no seats, so this girl stands up and says that the man can have her seat. The old man almost started crying. He said something about having waited 40 years to see the Prophet and how grateful he was to the girl. The old man sat down and the usher gave the girl a hug. The girl went up into the bleachers to watch the rest of the event.

At one point, a half an hour before it started, President Hinckley crossed the back of the stage. It was amazing. A few seconds earlier that auditorium was filled with noise. By once the Prophet showed up no one spoke. We all rose to our feet and just stood there in reverence. We stood there for ten minutes before someone got on stage to tell us that we could sit down. It turns out the reason that President Hinckley had crossed the stage was that he had to go to the bathroom. We probably would have stood there for the whole half an hour if we hadn't been told we could sit. A few minutes before it began we all stood as the faculty came in (one of the female teachers totally biffed it, by the way...I felt so bad for her...They got it on camera and everything. At least no one laughed), and kept standing as President Hinckley and his guests took their seats.

Once it finally started it was also amazing. First, President Hinckley welcomed us and announced the program. The BYU-Idaho Symphony orchestra played beautiful prelude music, by the way. Then, the orchestra played "Procession of the Nobles." We stood during this and remained standing as the colors were posted and while we all sang the National Anthem. Elder Richard G. Scott gave the invocation. Then President Hinckley got back up to make some announcements. The greeting to President Clark were given by: our Student Body President, The President of BYU-Provo's Alumni Association, and the President of BYU-Provo's Faculty Association.

Following this we heard from the Governor of Idaho, the President of Harvard, and Elder Kerr (a member of the First Quorum of the Seventy and the Commissioner of the Church Educational System). They mostly talked about how they knew President Clark and what they foresaw him bringing to our school in the future. He has already started to make changes. He is having a meeting with all the teachers to discuss how they can be more dedicated and things of that nature. My religion teacher actually told us that we might be getting a new syllabus after the meeting.

After we heard from the above, the Symphony orchestra and the Combined choirs performed "Praise to the Lord, the Almighty." I cannot put into words what a wonderful job they did. It was incredible. It brought tears to everyone's eyes. Following this President Hinckley did the installation and charge to President Clark, and then President Clark gave his acceptance and response. He talked about what he expected from the students and teachers at this school and some of the things he has planned for the future. Just a side note, but at some point during his remarks a lady in the audience got sick and started throwing up. She had to be escorted out and the ushers had to clean up the mess. Poor lady! I know that was random...On to the rest of the program...

After President Clark's talk, President Hinckley made a few more remarks (you can probably find a copy of this whole thing somewhere, by the way). The closing prayer was given and the orchestra played as everyone left. We all stood as President Hinckley, and guests, left. It was so cute. As he was leaving, President Hinckley turned around and waved his cane at us in farewell...We all waved back of course. We continued standing as he and all his guests left, and until the last of the faculty had exited the room...Then we left too. It was truly a once in a lifetime experience that I will never forget. I know this post is long, but I wanted to included everything...There's probably still something I forgot...But I'll add that later. Take care everyone!

Just a Quick Note...

Next Tuesday is the inauguration of the new President of BYU-Idaho. His name is President Clark and he used be the Dean of Harvard. The most exciting part of all this is that the First presidency of the church will be there, and most of the General authorities. I woke up at 6:40 this morning so I could try to get a ticket. The server was so busy, because everyone was trying to get tickets at the same time. I stayed on for over an hour! They did not even end up posting them until just before 9am. Luckily I got my tickets!!! The rest of the tickets sold out within the hour! I am so excited to be going!! I get to be in the same room with President Hinckley and his councilors! I can't wait! I will post again soon!

General Conference

This weekend was the Church's semi-annual General conference. I did not get to watch as much of it as I would have liked, but things came up. I did get to watch all of this afternoon's session though, it was really good. I love listening to President Hinckley speak. He's just one of those men that you think of as a grandpa-figure. He looked really good too, last conference he looked so tired. It was a very quiet weekend because most people here went to Utah to see the conference, or went to be with family.

My friend Niki and I were the only R.A.s here, and the manager was gone. It was a good thing that there weren't very many people, that could have made our job a lot more difficult. I also had my own room this weekend, as all my roommates but one were gone. It was weird. I'm not used to having my own room up here. It was still nice though, a little quiet but whatever. Audra got back a few hours ago, we are still waiting for the rest of our roommates.

I think weekends are too short. We need, like, one extra day. Here it is, already Sunday, and I have already got to get ready for school tomorrow. :( Oh, well...Not much I can do about that. I think this month is going to go by really slowly. We have no school breaks to make it shorter. Next month will be better, and December will fly by. I hope everyone else is doing well. Take care!

Mashed Potatos

So today we had Audra's cousin, and his roommates, over for dinner. We had roast, mashed potatoes, raspberry jello salad, and corn. It was a lot of fun. They actually stayed for 2 1/2 hours. There was a lot of talking and laughing involved. I bet we will see them again soon. So, anyways, after they left we were putting away all the food; and Keri decided she would stick her hand into the mashed potatoes. So we decided to throw them away, not that we had anywhere to put them anyways. So Audra decided it would be fun to make the mashed potatoes in to balls and see if Keri could catch them in her mouth. We made a regular game out of it. Audra finding new ways to throw the potatoes, and Keri finding new ways to catch them in her mouth. She didn't catch them all of the time, and they ended up on the floor...But a good majority of the time she managed to get them in her mouth. At one point she decided it would be funny to see what would happen when a mashed potato ball was thrown at the ceiling...Guess what...It explodes...And sticks...It's a mess. All in all in was a very entertaining game.

On Friday we went to Winger's for dinner. One of the waiter's there kept looking at Mels every time he passed her...And once he even winked. So we convinced her to leave her number...She didn't think he would call. But tonight he did call and now he is coming over for brownie Sundays. We were all thrilled. This could be her future husband! It is good timing too, because she graduates next semester, or so, and it would be a great time for her to get married.

School is going well...Sort of. I am pretty confidant about all of my classes except for biology...And that's my major! Oh well, I'll figure it out and all will be good...I hope. September is almost over and October is about to begin. Once I get through October I can look forward to a week off for Thanksgiving...And roughly 16 days later I will be out of school for my three week winter break. I think it will go by pretty quickly...But I cold be wrong. I hope everything is going well for everyone who reads this. I know I am bad at keeping in touch with you all. I hope I can do better! I'll post again soon!

Just Like Heaven

On Friday my roommates and I went and saw the new Reese Witherspoon movie entitled, "Just Like Heaven." This movie is going on my must buy list! It was the perfect movie. It had comedy, romance, tears, everything....A total chick-flick by the way. We liked it so much that we saw it again the next day. I have no doubts when I give it a 10 out of 10.

Everything else is going well, school is still hard and stuff but whatever...Good news...I spoke with my advisor, again, and found out that I can graduate when I planned. I am very relieved...For awhile I thought that I would need one more semester...But I'm good. I just have to take two online classes while I do my internship, and take 18 credits a semester until I'm done. It will be hard, but I can do it. For now I am just trying to make it through this semester.

I hope you are all well. As always, I will try and keep up with my posting...Although I don't have much time what with school, work, going to the gym, and church commitments...But I will try.

Okay Mom!

On behalf of my mother, who commented on my lack of posting, I am finally updating. Now I just half to think of some interesting news. I went to the fair yesterday. I went with some of my roommates. It was really fun. We went on two rides, the Zipper and that spaceship one that spins you around until you stick to the walls. You know the one I mean. We ate way too much food! And we saw these HUGE horses. We also saw goats, one let me pet him, it was cool. We left around 8pm and stopped by a gas station on the way home so we could get some Cherry Vanilla Dr. Pepper's. I'm telling you this is the best soda EVER!

Let's see what else...I'm really excited about going home for Thanksgiving. It will make the semester go by a lot faster...I can't wait. Although Audra did say that if I couldn't go home I could have Thanksgiving at her house. That would have been fun too, but I still want to go home. After I get back I only have, like, twenty days until I come home for Christmas...And I get three weeks off. It is going to be so nice! I can't wait!!

School is going well, if not a little slowly. My teachers are cool, the homework is hard...But what do you expect? I'm hoping I will get back into the swing of things soon, so I don't get too stressed out later on. My roommates and I are going to try and do a lot of fun stuff this semester so that the time goes by faster. Here's hoping that it works. Well, that's all the news I have for now. I hope this satisfied you Mom...If not, I'll try to post again soon. Take care everyone!!

New Semester

Today was my first day of school, for the Fall semester. I got emails from a few of my teachers last week and they sounded kind of strict. I was slightly worried when I started towards my classes this morning. I was dreading the walk and the classes.

I got to my first class, Biology 2. I was a little late, but I blame that on the construction they have been doing everywhere. I have two teachers for that class, one for lecture and one for lab. They both seem nice, but I know that this class will still be difficult. Stupid biology major!

My next class was across campus in the Romney. It was my Chemistry class. My teacher was not at all what I expected. I expected some middle-aged, gross looking, grey-haired lady with no personality. The teacher I got was nice and she seemed fun. She put all of our lectures online for us to print out so we don't have to get a book.

My last class, College Algebra, was in the Ricks building. I hate that building, it is the farthest building from EVERYTHING!!! My teacher had sent me an email saying that he gives you ten points at the beginning of the semester so you can buy absences, 3 points, and tardies, 1 point. I hope that I can find a faster way to class so I am not late all the time. This teacher also marches to the beat of his own drummer. I felt that I was listening to one of those motivational speakers. He was hyper, and loud, and enthusiastic. He kept going on about how we need to have faith that we can pass this course, we need to turn that faith into hope for the future, and we need to leave our negative thoughts about math at the door.

He also told us that we could do our homework from any college algebra book, so that's another one I don't need. I went to collect my textbooks and there were only two there! My bio book and my religion manual. You know what that means Mom and Dad, all that money that we were charged for books was mostly just for the bio one. I am glad I don't need any others though, too much to carry. I have to say that this will be an interesting semester...And I haven't even met all of my teachers yet!! I wonder what tomorrow will bring...

My roommates are great, I have three of the same ones from last time, and the two new ones seem nice...They are so young though! There is a different vibe here now that DeAndra is gone, it is more mellow and less...Um...Engaging? DeAndra got married to Aaron, my old FHE buddy, last week. They vacationed in Hawaii...Must be rough huh? She should have listened to me and Audra sooner...We have been telling her all along that she should marry Aaron...But nooo.....She wouldn't listen.

We saw this lady who was at the wedding and she said that DeAndra and Aaron stayed at this hotel after the ceremony. DeAndra's parents were supposed to pick up the car, but she forgot to leave them the car keys. So at 7am her parents knock on the door, for the keys. DeAndra and Aaron were so embarrassed. In fact they were so embarrassed that instead of calling her parents for a ride so they could go home and pack, they called a friend to take them.

As they were packing her whole family showed up. DeAndra asked her Aunt to braid her hair. When her Aunt went to it she saw that DeAndra's neck was covered with this HUGE hickeys. Audra talked to DeAndra yesterday and when she asked about the hickeys Aaron said, "Oh, you mean those ones she got from the vacuum?" So Audra says, "That's funny Aaron, I didn't know your name was Hoover." It was very funny! Perfect timing.

Sorry this is long, a lot has happened, and I didn't even write most of it down! I will post soon with the rest of my news. Take care everyone!

Heat Wave.

On the news today they announced that California is in the middle of a heat wave. When is California not in a heat wave? I don't like being hot, I'd rather be cold. Whatever, it's not like I can magically change the weather...Or can I? Nope, I tried, I can't do it. On another note, I saw 'Fantastic Four' over the weekend. There has been much debate over whether or not this movie was any good. Personally, I liked it a lot. Of course everyone is entitled to their own opinions. To those who did not like it...

This was the origin movie. You know, the first movie of a group, the one that introduces the story, characters, and their powers. I compare it to X-men and Spiderman one (Both of which I enjoyed). The truth is that the first film is always a little slow and not full of action. 'Fantastic Four,' like X-men and Spiderman, will only get better in the sequel. By then the characters will be developed, be used to their powers, and will have more evil people to fight. I say give this movie time to find its roots. I liked this movie and I can't wait until the second one comes out.

In other news, I am going camping this weekend. Again. I just went camping but whatever. My family and I are going to Pismo beach. On our way there we are stopping by my Uncle's for a visit. It should be interesting. I haven't seen my cousins for quite some time. I do miss them though. The second set of news I have is that tomorrow is my first gym day. I am meeting with a trainer from 11-12. I bought gym clothes and everything. Another good thing about this is that, even though it is only for a month, Bethany goes to the same gym so we can go together.

That's about all for now, I should have more soon. I am expecting a call from a certain roommate of mine, she should be tell me some news of matrimonial proportions. I'll post again soon!

Something Interesting...

You scored as Angel. Angel: Angels are the guardians of all things, from the smallest ant to the tallest tree. They give inspiration, love, hope, and positive emotion. They live among humans without being seen. They are the good in all things, and if you feel alone, don't fear. They are always watching. Often times they merely stand by, whispering into the ears of those who feel lost. They would love nothing more then to reveal themselves, but in today's society, this would bring havoc and many unneeded questions. Give thanks to all things beautiful, for you are an Angel.

Another Year Down...

So today Bethany called me and told me that her boss had given her free movie tickets and she asked me if I wanted to go. We went and saw "Batman Begins." I really enjoyed it! It had just the right combination of emotional conflict and action. I would absolutely see it again. In other news, tomorrow is my 22nd birthday. Yes, another year has come and gone and I still feel unaccomplished and stuck in this rut known as school. Oh well, at least I am accomplishing something. There is a certain amount of security that comes with school. You come to expect certain things and when it is all over you have to face the real world and hope that you survive.

I just found out that a good friend of mine is getting married. I am really happy for her. She is one of the nicest girls I know. It seems like everyone I know is either getting married or having babies. I know that I am still not quite ready for something like that, but I do feel like I am getting closer. Anyways...That is pretty much it for now. Other than the fact that I went camping over the weekend. It was dirty but fun. I went with my family and we rode quads. Kody, my dog, didn't enjoy it. He does not like being dirty, but he loved the ATV rides. That's all for now...I will post again soon.

Mood: Conflicted

I know, it's been almost a month since my last post...I wish I could say I have been doing better and more exciting things, but the truth is that I haven't. Life here has been slow and boring. My motivation to go out and have a life has been stifled by the heat. I am still actively looking for a job, and I've had a few interviews. But the fact that I can only work for two months and that I won't work on Sundays is hindering my progress.

I am bored here. There is not much to do. I saw "The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants" the other day. It was pretty good. I cried, I laughed...I generally had a good time. Now some of my friends...*cough, cough...Liz* Probably won't like this movie. Those friends might refer to this movie as corny. Well, people eat corn. And I liked the film...oh, well.

The title of my blog reads conflicted. Well, I am. Part of me longs to go back to school and hang out with my roommies...And the other part of me wants to stay here and enjoy the simplicities of life. Of course that life comes with nagging parents and annoying siblings. It's not always bad here, but it does get aggravating. Maybe tomorrow will bring me a different outlook on my life. Well, I guess that's it for now. Stay safe and keep busy.

The Saga is Complete.

I saw Star Wars: The Revenge of the Sith tonight. I went with my friend Bethany. We got the tickets in advanced, and it's a good thing that we did because there was a huge line to get in when we arrived. When we finally got into the theater it was packed! We did manage to find some good seats up in front however. There was a ton of previews before hand, but all the movies looked pretty good. The crowd we were with were really enthusiastic, they clapped at everything.

The movie itself I liked. It was a lot better than the second one. There was a lot of action and all loose ends were tied up. It made a good transition into the other movies. However there were a few consistencies. {**Highlight the invisible section to hear my rants, but beware there are spoilers about the film contained within.**} These inconsistencies dealt mainly with the death of Natalie Portman's Padma character. She died during childbirth in the film, but in the other films Leia's character talks about the memories she has of her mother. If her mother died during childbirth than she wouldn't have those memories. But whatever, it was still a really good movie. Go Lucas! Well, that's all for now, the job hunt continues and I am tired.

Another Day...

There's not much to report here in Stephi-land. I've been looking for a job, but so far nothing has panned out. My sister, Danielle, did get a job today at Juice it up...Kudos to her. That does not really help me though. I went to Disneyland on Friday, it was fun. The ushers for events are rude though. During the fireworks they block off everything with ropes and anyone who is not in the ropes is stuck on this walkway. The ushers yell things like, "Keep moving, no stopping, keep to the right!" over and over. Yet there are so many people there that no one can move. Yet the ushers keep yelling at you. Needless to say in ruins the magic of the show a little bit. By the end of it I was ready to hit the ushers with their little glow sticks! So that's it. I went to Disneyland, I've been sick for four days with a cold, I can't find a job, and I miss my roommates. I'll post again when things change.

Home at last

Well, I'm home now. And I am very bored. There is not a whole lot to do, plus I don't have access to a car most of the time. My sister has the car we share all day because she has classes and jury duty. Then she also has it all night because she goes over to her friend's house every day. What's a girl to do? I am going to need a car soon though because I am looking for a job. I am going to apply at a vet's office later today. Wish me luck! I miss my roommates a ton! I didn't expect to feel this way. With my last roommates I was sad to leave but I had no desire to go back. Now I am excited for the fall semester. DeAndra put it the best. She said, "I wish we could all just live together and have jobs, not go to school, and hang out all of the time." Sounds fun to me.

By the way...Congratulations to Elizabeth who is finishing college soon, if she's not done already. Good luck to her with her future as a career woman who no longer has to take finals!!! I wish I was there too. Someday I will be...Just not any time soon. ;) On a side note...I watched 'Finding Neverland' today, finally. I liked it. In honor of Liz's traditional way of rating movies, I give it 9 out of 10 toenail clippings. Very well done! Well, that's it for now. I will post again when something noteworthy happens.

Almost done...

Here I am in the last week of the semester and it is going soooo slowly! I almost long to be in class because then the time goes by more quickly. There is not a lot to do in Rexburg, I know it is hard to believe...But it's true. I have homework to finish up, roommates to hang out with, and packing to get done. Yet all I want to do is hang out with my roommates and my FHE's! We are going to see "Phantom of the Opera" tonight, yes I am seeing it again! It is playing at the cheap theater here and we could not let the opportunity pass us by. It will be fun!

I probably won't get the chance to post a lot this week but I promise there will be a nice long one when I get home. Until that time I hope everyone stays happy and healthy. And always remember if you eat the gum off the street then you will probably get mono!

It's been a while...

It has been forever since I last posted, but I've been busy. The semester is almost over, my internet down, and I have a TON to get done. In response to my dear mothers request for pics of my little performance...NO! It is not a big performance. We are not even on a stage...It is in the middle of the lounge of the Snow building. Plus, I suck! Actually we all suck! This is not something I want to remember. We are doing one song and then leaving...Wouldn't you rather have pics of me happy? That's all for now...I got homework!

Big Sky

So there is a chance that I will be going to Montana this weekend. One of my roommates is from there and we decided that it might be nice to get out of Rexburg for awhile. On a different note, my English teacher extended the date that our research paper is due until Tuesday. We can still turn it in on this Thursday, if we so choose, but it is nice to know that if I get crunched for time I have a few more days to finish it.

It is almost the end of the semester and I can feel the pressure to get everything done for all my classes. I also just found out that my voice class will be opening for a concert. We have to sing and DANCE! I really hate my life right now! Plus this nice little humiliating event is right during finals week. I was taking to Aaron, my FHE bro, about it and he said he wanted to go. I told him that there was no one way I was letting anyone that I know come and watch me make a fool of myself while dancing on stage...No thank you!

So that is what's going on now. I have papers to write, finals to take, and a performance during finals. Plus my internet is still down so I have to go to the lounge to do all my homework...And the lounge closes at 11pm...I need more time!!!

Monday, March 21, 2005

Here we go again...

Sorry everyone, this post will be short. My internet is down again and I have a ton and a half of homework to do. Plus my first draft of my fifteen page research paper is due this thursday. On a side note...I bought a new book around one today...yeah, I finished it already...well, that's all for now. I promise to write more later!

Washington

So this last weekend I went to Washington. I went with my roommate, Audra, three of our FHE brothers(Aaron, Dustin, and KC), Dusti's friend Keri, Aaron's sister Lindsey, and two of Lindsey's friends. So there were nine of us all together. We took two cars and drove for ten hours. We went to a little town called Manson that is just outside of Wenatchee. We went to Aaron's house because his brother is going on a mission and Aaron wanted to say goodbye. So we all went. I was a lot of fun, I don't I have ever laughed so much in my life! And that was just on the car ride.

We left Friday, from Rexburg, at nine in the morning. We got to Manson around seven or eight at night. We had dinner at their friend's house, she made us really good Mexican food. Then we went to Aaron's house and watched "Pirates of the Caribbean." Then we stayed up talking until two, then the guys went to bed. Around three Audra, Keri,a nd I decided it would be funny to pull a prank on the guys. So Keri painted one of Aaron's thumbnails red, and one of Dustin's thumbnails blue. We would have done more but we were laughing too hard. They had that nail polish on all weekend.

They were going to get revenge by handcuffing me and Audra together, we were sharing a bed so it would have been fairly easy to do. They had the cuffs and everything, but they fell asleep. Anyways... On Saturday we woke up and Aaron's mom made us biscuits and gravy, it was very good. Then we went out on Aaron's uncle's boat for awhile, the lake was beautiful. Then we took a group nap. Then we went to Aaron'd grandparent's house for homemade chicken soup. Then we went into town for groceries. Then we watched several episodes of "Friends," we basically just hung out. Then we all fell asleep while watching "Finding Nemo."

On Sunday we went to church to listen Aaron's brother talk. Then we went to Aaron's grandparents house for dinner. They made us lasagna. It was delicious! We had roll and this really good juice, and salad. They fed us well. Plus there was three kinds of dessert. After eating we said our goodbyes and hit the road. The trip felt a lot longer on the way back. We didn't get home till around one in the morning. It was a fun trip, and after we got back we were all ready to go on another one. All in all it was a great weekend. Now it's back to stupid school and the real world.

A burden lifted...

It's amazing how talking to my mom can sometimes relieve so much stress. I decided to drop my math class because I was not doing well and it was causing me a huge amount of stress. I wanted to ask my parent's opinion first, however, because they are paying for my schooling. My mom let me know it was okay to drop and so I did. I cannot even describe the feeling I had when that weight was lifted from me. This whole sememster I have been tired, stressed, and moody. I feel better now than I have in a long time. So thank you mom for making my week!

Oh and just so my parents, who I know read this, know there was no fee I had to pay. The fee only applied if I withdrew from school after the sememster started. I still don't get my tuition for that class back though...that kind of sucks :( But I think that everything will go a lot smoother from now on...here's hoping. So here ends my big crisis of the semester.

Another day goes by...

So here it is...March. This will be the longest stretch of my school semester. Thirty-one days...no breaks. My fiction teacher is having us read "The Brother Karamazov" right now. It's an okay book...but I don't think that I have a very strong passion for Russian Literature. My English teacher is preparing us for our fifteen page paper that is due this month...needless to say we are all freaked out. My class could be going better, but I won't depress anyone with that. My voice class is going well...but my teacher keeps saying that I am holding back. Duh! If I don't hold back I would be putting my self out there...and I never do that!!

My other classes are pretty good...not much to report. I can't wait for this semester to end. It's not bad or anything, I love my roommies and everything...it's just time for a break. I also need a chance to get rid of these stupid pop-ups! They are driving me nuts!! Well, I got a paper to write so that's it for now...stay safe everyone! And don't eat the yellow snow!!!

My war with the EVIL Spyware!!

It's almost over!! After a fierce battle with the nasty computer pop-ups it is finally coming to an end. For the last few days my computer has been infested with spyware. There has been so much of that my computer was hardly functional. It has been sooo slow!! I couldn't even get on the internet to get a spyware remover. Finally, last night, after many prayers to the computer Gods, I got on to the internet long enough to get the remover! I installed and have run fours scans since. It found over 750 spyware programs!!! Can I just say I was ready to chuck my computer over the balcony!

I am still having problems with pop-ups, but not quite as bad. Although when they do come, they seem to all come at once...Like right now!!! GRRRR!!!! I swear...I'm going to pull my hair out!!! Well, the pop-ups are winning for a moment so I will keep this short. I hope everyone has fun stuff planned this weekend...I know I don't. So stay safe and wish me luck in this spyware nightmare...Hey look! I'm a poet and I didn't even know it!! ;)

The Greatest Snowball Fight EVER!!!

I know today is Sunday and we are supposed to be prayerful and stuff like that but my roommates and I sort of forgot that for a moment today. We (DeAndra, Anissa, and I) were coming out of the lounge with one of our FHE brothers, Casey, and his friend, Scotty, when DeAndra decided it would be fun to start a snowball fight in the parking lot. So we all started throwing snowballs at each other, it was fun.

Then Scotty got DeAndra with a really good hit and then ran off. She then proceeded to run after him. She tackled him and they got into a huge snowball/tackle fight. Basically this consisted of her repeatedly trying to knock him down...Which she actually succeeded at a few times. So there we were throwing snowballs and watching DeAndra tackle Scotty, when all of a sudden a snowball comes flying out of nowhere!!!

We turned to the direction of the snowball and see three guys from our church ward across the street. So we start throwing snowballs across the street at each other. Then DeAndra whispers something to me and Anissa: "Let's tackle them!" I don't know these guys so I decline, respectfully. Her and Anissa run across the street, but halfway there Anissa's pants start to, well, come down, and in the end DeAndra is the only one who tackles anyone.

When I say tackle I mean, attempt to tackle. She ran at them, tried to tackle one of the guys, and ended up getting tackled herself. For the next fifteen minutes or so DeAndra tried to tackle these guys, and failed every time. We helped of course...Everything DeAndra would go in for the tackle we would throw snowballs. DeAndra was soaked by the end of it. She kept getting dumped into snow drifts. It was a lot of fun...There is nothing better than bonding over a snowball fight. Maybe we will end up doing it again sometime...

Enjoy the quiet while it lasts...

So my roommates are out of town for the weekend, well most of them are anyways. Mels went to Salt Lake, Audra and Mardi went to Montana; so it is just Anissa, DeAndra, and I. And now you know all the names of my roommates...Don't you feel lucky? Tonight the three of us went to see 'Comic Frenzy.' This is kind of like 'Who's line is it anyway?' It was funny...Well parts of it, not so much...But whatever, we still had fun.

Before the show we went out to eat at Hogi Yogi. I will now take a moment to pay special tribute to "the corner." I live right next to "the corner" and I know my parents will be so happy that I mentioned it. For those who are unaware of it's history, I shall enlighten you. "The Corner" is where my parents first met. My mom was walking home with groceries and my dad offered her a ride home, the rest is history. It's funny, I have heard the story of "the corner" a million and a half times, but I have never heard about how my dad proposed to my mom...Curious...

So yeah...We ate at Hogi Yogi and then we went to the show, and then we went to Dairy Queen for ice cream. Following all this excitement we went and rented movies. I had a very interesting conversation with an employee there. His name was Noah and when he found out that I used to work for Hollywood Video he began quizzing me on my knowledge. I still got it! I passed the test with flying colors...And no matter what DeAndra says, I was NOT flirting...I was conversing.

So now I am here, writing in my blog at two in the morning...Don't worry mom, I'm about to go to bed. Tomorrow is a new day, and who knows what that day will bring. So have a good night everyone...Maybe I will post again in the morning...Who am I kidding? I'll try to post again by Monday!

Mourning the loss of a Legend

I thought I would take a moment to mourn the loss of one of the greater writers of our time. Arthur Miller died earlier this week at the age of 89. This great man wrote such classics as "The Crucible," and "Death of a Salesman." He truly was a great man and an even greater writer. So here's to you Arthur Miller, thanks for making English class just a little harder. Have a great weekend everyone; and to Arthur Miller's friends and family, I wish you the best.

OWWWW!!!!

Would you like me to explain the title. Fine, I will. So my roommates are pretty into tanning, using tanning beds. They are not obsessed or anything so don't worry. They just like to go about once a week. I've gone twice. Thursday was my second time. And let me tell you...I got burned. It hurts! When I got out of the bed I didn't think I had burned but by nightfall I was nice and red. It is not all over or anything. Mainly on my back and stomach. But it still hurts!

So Monday is National Single Awareness Day...a.k.a. Valentine's Day. Who invented such a stupid day? I blame Cupid! Oh! By the way, in case you didn't notice, I have a new way for you to post comments! A special thanks to luminarumbra for helping me out with this one! So please, comment away!!! OK...So I have homework to do...Have a great day everyone!!

Comment Disabled! Lose 500 points! Do not pass go!

Yeah so, comments were *disabled* on your last post Stephanie, so I'm forced to create a brand new BLOG just to write something! Which I can do now, since I've joined your board. I think all this power is going to my head! Bwwaaa ha ha ha! Anyway, so a hose attachment huh? That sounds like either an oliphant or a vaccum cleaner. I vote for oliphant! Hope the paper went well, darlin. Ciao!

And I'm Back On!!!

YEAH!!! The internet has been running for about a week now!! I am so happy I could jump! But I won't because I would probably get weird looks from my roommates. So instead I will shout for joy inside my head...Which probably makes me sound crazy...But what the heck!

So I ran into someone I knew a couple years ago yesterday. Her name is Becca. She married this guy I used to know named Seth. We reminisced for awhile about people we knew...It turns out that most of the people I knew are married now...Go figure. Becca wanted to have a big potluck for all those who were up here in the summer of 2002. Oh great...A party where I am one of, like, three single people. Oh well, we will see what happens.

today's post might be a little shorter than usual, as I have a huge paper to write tonight. So I should probably get started on that...I don't want to though. I have to write a paper that describes on object that I have never seen before. I think it some kind of hose attachment though. So basically I will BS my way through it and hope I do it right.

So I guess that's it for now. I hate homework and I miss California, but I dare say I will live. I do love my roommates and everything...School just sucks. But life goes on and before I know it the semester will be over. So, here's till then. Have fun everybody!!!

Crap!!!!

Don't you love my title? I am just posting a brief note to inform you that my interent is down again so I have to sneak onto school computers to do my evil work. I will try to post as often as possible, but lets just hope that the internet gets fixed soon! Take care everyone!

I know, I know....

It's been a while since my last post. Soemtimes the evil computer likes to mock me. It says things like, "I'm not going to let you online...so there!" Then, of course, I hit it with very heavy objects and run away. Not because I'm scared, of course, but because I feel like running.

I have been so tired this week...I just wish I had a whole day to sleep. I did not want to wake up this morning. Stupid classes...if I didn't have to wake up then I could sleep, and then I would be happy!! But I can't sleep, and I do have to go to classes...so I guess I will just sulk in silence.

So, has anyone seen "The Other Side of Heaven?" Well yesterday I got the opportunity to hear a talk by the man who lived that story. And by this I mean the man who all those things happened to and the man that inspired the film. He was a really good speaker, and he looked like a very nice old man...his wife was cute too. The event was by invitation only and I was lucky enough to be invited. It was very cool!

I have had the busiest weekend. On Friday me, my roommies, and our FHE (Family Home Evening) brothers decided to go to some games. Joey (one of my "brothers") had a basketball game so we all went to that. Then we were supposed to go to Josephs (another "brother") hockey game, but it was cancelled because the ice melted. So we just hung out instead. On Saturday we all (same group as before) went to 'Comic Frenzy'. This is an improv comedy group that performs on campus. So we went to that and then we all went to see 'The Incredibles.' I like that movie. As Liz would say, "I give it 10 out 10 toenail clippings!"

Tonight all of us, yes same group as before, are getting together over at our apartment and we are going to watch 'Naepolean Dynamite." Okay, can I just say that this looks like the stupidest movie EVER!!! My brain will probably exploid halfway through the movie. But I promised the guys that I would give it a chance so we will see what happens.

I guess that's it for now. I have homework to do and a nap, laundry to finish, and a nap to take...so farewell and get to sleep early. 'Cause if you do that then you won't be as tired as I am right now!!! And for those of you who are about to complain about my spelling, my computer is running very slowly so I can't run spell check. But I do believe that you will get over it!

Of all the...

Okay...So are you ready for my biggest complaint yet? In my dorm complex we have free internet...Great right? Everything was going fine...Slow, but fine...When a couple of girls decided it would be fun to illegally download music off the internet. It turns out that the internet was running slow because they were using more bandwidth than they were supposed to and, in the middle of their crime, they downloaded a virus. So the managers had to shut down the internet so they could contain the virus. They said it would not take long to fix but it has now been a week.

I am very put out. They keep saying it will be up soon but it still isn't. Some us need to get online in order to do homework and such. Grrrr!!! And to my dear friend Elizabeth...I am sorry for the lack of paragraph breaks in my previous post...I wrote it quickly and I didn't remember the breaks until later. As you see I am slowly integrating them into my blog...Just for you.

School is going well so far. My computer teacher said that if we felt that we were keeping up in the class we did not need to attend. I have always been pretty good at computers so I don't think I will go to class tomorrow. I did wonderfully on my last homework assignment...It was almost too easy. I wish that the rest of my classes were like that. Oh well, there's really nothing that I can do about that.

I don't know when I will be able to post again, as I am currently using campus computers to get online. But I hope it will be soon. That's it for now, I have homework to do. All hail King Bob...And goodbye!

Here I Am

So, here I am...back at school. It has been over two years since I was last here. I don't remember it being this cold...or the ground being so slick. I am happy to say that I have avoiding falling thus far. It is weird being back. I have to try and remember where everything is...all the buildings and things. It is going to be a very difficult semester, I can tell. I told Bethany that I just didn't care and I didn't want to put in the effort of making friends. But in spite of my inhibitions...I guess I did make new friends. I mean we aren't like best friends yet or anything...but they are nice and friendly and I could see us doing stuff together. I am trying out for a play with one of my roommates..."Steal Magnolias." It sounds fun...but I know I'm not going to get a part. This is BYU-I after all...the parts will go to theater majors and stuff...plus I never have much luck with auditions. It is awkward and I never end up playing the part the way that I wanted to. But hopefully it will be a fun experience and I will grow, or some crap like that, from it. My classes have been okay so far. I have gone to all but one of them. My math class was canceled because our teacher has a conference or something. My math class is probably in the building that is farthest away from where I live...in fact I know it is the farthest building away from where I live. Wednesday was my first official day and it was a good day. I went to my Book of Mormon class and found out that I needed to sell back the books I bought because we do not need them. My teacher is nice and the class does not seem overly difficult. Then I waited around for my next class to start. While I waited I went to the bookstore to buy a textbook that cost $70! Stupid books. This would have been the time that my math class was at, but like I said...it got canceled. So then I went to my Vocal Instruction class. I think it will be a fun class. My teacher is soooo funny! The first thing she did was sing as she walked into the room. It was not like she was singing a song either...she was just talk-singing. She seems really fun and really nice and hopefully she can help my singing improve. So that was my first day. My second day was good, but not AS good. First I went to my Technical writing class...oh my gosh HARD! I have to do a 15 page paper. I swear I am never taking an English class again!!! It was okay though...again nice teacher. The first thing we did in the class was make paper airplanes...with instructions on how to make it. Then we swapped instructions and tried to build another person's airplane. Then we went into the hall and threw the airplanes at the teacher. If we hit her we got extra credit...not many people were able to hit her. I noticed that the girls all made their airplanes the same way...and the boys went ALL out. So then I went to Fiction class. The teacher started by telling us how difficult the class was and that we were taking the long way around by using this class to earn general credits. But after he went over everything it seems really easy. There is a lot of reading though. We have four take home exams and one final that is just an essay about one of the exam questions. That and the reading is all that there is. We got out early so I had to wait a while for my Micro applications class to start. This one will be hard. We have to learn to do spreadsheets and databases using Excel and Access. It does not seem easy. Plus our teacher is like the stereotypical computers teacher...overweight, glasses, slicked hair, sci-fi fan...the works. I really hope I do well this semester. I found out that a friend I had from the last time I was up here lives in the complex next to me. I haven't seen her yet but we are trying to get together. Maybe she will come with me to see "The Phantom of the Opera" which does not open here until the 21st. I love that movie!!! This weekend we are supposed to get this huge storm here. It is supposed to be the worst one in 30 years. Our dorm leaders sent out a notice telling us to stay inside, to stock up on food and water, and that the power might go out so we should have flashlights. I have a little book light...but whatever. I wonder how much snow we will get? I hope not too much...it is a long walk up to the campus...maybe they will cancel classes and church and stuff...that would rock!!! I have no storage space in my apartment. Like there is plenty of room in the bathroom area and no room in the kitchen...I keep my food in my closet. It turns out that I actually got the big room...sure I share it with someone...but it is a lot bigger than the dorm bedrooms were...it is nice. The internet is slow here but at least it works...mine is the only one in the apartment that is working...I think it's because I had my dad fix it for me...it is still slow, but that is probably because I am used to DSL at home. I guess this is it for now...I really don't have much more to say...so I guess I will write more later.

My First Post

Good afternoon to all you Underhill's, Baggins's, and Proudfoot's. Welcome to the Prancing Pony. This my first offical blog and my first offical post. I may bore you at times...but I have a pretty random personality...so perhaps I will make you laugh as well. This post will very short and my next post will be very long... so it balances out. Now I invite you to pull up a chair and grab a pint...yes it comes in pints.
